Cellulite affects mostly women, and is mainly found on the outer thighs, but often extends to the hips and buttocks.  It has also been described as ‘orange peel skin’ due to the puckering. 

Aromatherapy is one of the most effective forms of treatment for this condition.  Nutrition, dry skin brushing and gentle exercise play an important role, as cellulite is basically pockets of toxins.

Massage into affected area morning and evening.  Most effective after a bath or shower - Formula: Blend Carrier oils: 15 ml grapeseed; 5 ml sesame; avocado 5 ml - then Use the following blend of essential oils:  3 drops Cypress; 3 drops of Fennel; 3 drops grapefruit; 3 drops lemon

A stimulating lymphatic massage of Grapefruit can promote the appearance of smooth, undimpled skin, enhance circulation, and help regulate healthy body fluid levels.

Birch, Cypress & Juniper are good adjuncts because they stimulate your circulation and ease fluid retention problems that are often associated with cellulite.

An Aromatherapy formula for cellulite:  To make a massage or bath oil:  Add 5 drops each of cypress, geranium, grapefruit, bergamot oils and 4 drops of fennel oils in 2 ounces of vegetable oil or body lotion. The concentration of oils or lotion is too strong to use as a total massage, but you can rub it directly on cellulite areas once a day. (Warning it doesn't smell good but it works)

Increase Metabolism - Fennel and geranium both help to balance your hormones along with grapefruit, these oils have traditionally been used to facilitate weight loss and increase metabolism. 

Circulation - Cypress, Geranium, Ginger, Lemon, Lemongrass, Orange Blossom, Black Pepper, Pine, Rose, Rosemary, Thyme

Firming - Geranium, Grapefruit, Juniper, Lemon, Lemongrass, Lime, Tangerine, Sweet Marjoram, Orange blossom, Black Pepper, Rosemary

Compulsive Eating - Use the scent of bergamot if you have trouble with compulsive eating.

Appetite Suppressant & balance:  Diffuse Grapefruit essential oil or sniff grapefruit oil several times a day.  You can also blend 2-3 citrus oils.

Curb & Curb for Mature Women:  Provides vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that will help support nutritional heath and excessive hunger.
